Celebrate Martin Luther King Day by Serving Others

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is:

‘What are you doing for others?'”

—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday. The federal holiday celebrating his birthday is the third Monday of January, which makes it the 21st this year. Consider celebrating in his honor with a gift of service to others. You can sign up to volunteer at MLKDay.gov or create your own service project within your senior living community.

As Dr. King knew well, serving others makes us stronger as individuals, restores dignity to those who are struggling, and brings people together in community.

In our dining rooms, every day is an opportunity to be of service and build relationships. May Dr. King’s legacy inspire you to exceptional service as we celebrate his life this week.
