Elegant, Frosty Centerpieces

Create a stunning winter centerpiece this holiday season:Glass containers filled with pine cones and twigs that have been spray painted white and artfully arranged.

  1. Gather twigs, pine cones, and glass vases.
  2. Lightly spray paint the twigs and pine cones white. You’re not trying for full coverage, it is better if some of the natural coloring shows through.
  3. Let the paint dry completely.
  4. Fill each glass vase with an arrangement of twigs or pine cones.

There are many advantages to an arrangement like this; they don’t wilt  or require any tending and, if stored carefully, can be used year after year.

To make this a more fun project you might ask your resident gardening and walking clubs if they would be willing to help gather some of the twigs and pine cones. Then talk to the crafting circle to see if they will help with painting and arranging. Before you know it, you will have exquisite community-created centerpieces.
