Q&A: Are Boomers Really Coming into Senior Living Now?

Q. Cindy, are the Boomers really coming into senior living communities now?

A. Yes. Some are walking through your doors to decide whether or not to have their parents live in your community. Others are moving in themselves.

It’s very important for all senior care providers to begin service improvement to meet the expectations of the Boomer generation. Take a look at your rehab units and room service offerings, since they will likely be noticed first by Baby Boomers. Does service in these areas meet or exceed Boomer expectations? Many communities are remodeling beautifully, but not paying attention to service quality.

To learn more about Boomer expectations, read Hospitality for Boomers: How to attract residents, retain staff, and maximize profitability. For hands-on help implementing higher service standards, bring Kind Dining® Training to your senior living community. To get started, call 503-913-1978.
